Anyone interested in returning to manage their team for the coming season must post here.
Please be willing to stick out the whole season and take an active role in our league.

Hey guys, I was thinking...if this is all that we are probably getting back, we should start to look for new owners or something. I really want to keep this league going but 4 teams won't be able to do it...unless we want incredibly stacked teams. There used to be a forum type thing on espn.com's fantasy baseball page where people could look for interested owners but, unless I'm missing it, I don't see it this year. Maybe we could find something like that to get the remaining owners we need. Just a thought, but I really don't want to lose this league, especially since we put so much time into it last year.

boards.espn.go.com/boards/mb/mb?sport=fanboard&id=flbThere's the link to the board you were talking about. Can one of the LM's just email the other owners? People may just not be checking this since its been a while since the season. With Swag and AAA we have 5 owners right now, which puts us substantially short of the required amount...It's gonna be hard to recruit double the owners to come in as replacements when they don't know the rules. We should try to convince the other owners to return.

Yeah I will email John again.
He was planning on sending out an email.
And we are looking around for more owners.
I am slammed at work and coaching a little league baseball team.
So I am going to need help running the league this year.
I have talked it over with John and he is willing to step up and take more responsibility.
That said anyone else who is interested in taking a more active roll is welcome to. Send me an email at fjross4@gmail.com

As unfortunate as this is, I'm going to suggest an alternative course of action....I don't know if realistically we'll be able to get this league running again, the amount of people required is great and there's a pretty steep learning curve for the rules. This is my suggestion, we blow up the league and take the interested parties we have to start a new dynasty.
I think we've learned something from the difficulties we've had with returning members in this league, so a smaller league would be better. Maybe simplify the rules a bit so the LMs don't have to deal with such logistical difficulties. Slightly smaller rosters, less members, maybe no salary cap? We recruit a few more members (i'm imagining 8-10 teams) that we personally know (I know I can come up with a few) and can rely on to return. We've got a good core group here, we just need a few more people. Recruiting 10 teams to fill our current needs could be very challenging. Recruiting 3-5? Not as difficult. We assign new LMs from our core group (AAA still should have priority as this was his brainchild if he wants to keep up with it) and agree on a new set of rules.
Thoughts?

Hey all sorry about the lack of response on my end, I have been swamped with school this quarter. I like the idea Rainiers is proposing, if we can get 8-10 really dedicated players it makes it easier to run year to year vs have 14 people who may not be 100% into it. Though I understand if you are not interested in redrafting, I am not looking forward to having to repeat 40 rounds. Anyway the next 3 weeks are ugly for me, finals and jury duty are going to eat up a lot of time.

I like the idea of starting with new guys. It was obvious that most of the league wasn't as commited as the rest of us. I do like my roster, but redrafting wouldn't be the worst idea. I definitely want to keep the salary cap. I really like the idea. As for recruiting, I don't really have any friends I think would be commited enough to bring in. But I would like to get a final decision soon so we can get this league going for the 2011 season. Keep me in the loop!

If somebody wants to take the recruiting angle on the ESPN boards please feel free to take the initiative to get the league up and running.
