Also so you know. We have added 2 more protected spots so now there are 7.
Oh and I dont know if you saw this but since we started drafting before arb was settled in a lot of cases we are using the 2009 salary numbers for all players. Next year we will be current with salaries. So we are basically skipping the humbers for 2010
Also Kevin Gregg made $4.2 Million in 09 and J.P. Howell made $433,000
OH and the salary cap is 135 Million so you actually have 10 M more to spend.

Thanks, I was trying to play catch-up from whatever the guy before me had. That helps. Do we not have to count the salaries of the 7 protected and the rest of the 40-man? It didn't look like it to me but I just want to make sure my numbers are correct.

Yeah I am sure you have alot to catch up on as far as rules, drafted players, and everything else which is why I am here to help if you need it.
No you only count the players on your 25 man roster. The exception to this rule is if you call some up/ send them down. For the 25 players on your roster to start the season you will pay their 2009 salaries even if you send them down. (unless they are put on the DL then you are eligible to receive some money back.
For the 15 players not on your 25 man roster you will pay a pro rated version of their salary depending on when you brought them up with 400K being the minimum.
let me know if you have any other questions.
